  What is Fan Appreciation Day?

In 2002, Danny Kellermeyer, President of D. J. Racing, announced an exciting new fan involvement program for Corvette race enthusiasts. Kellermeyer was fielding two C5 racecars in the Sports Car Club of America's Touring Challenge for Corvettes (TCC) series. D.J.Racing invited local Corvette Clubs and C5 Registry members to each event and provided VIP treatment to their fans with a large covered area in the paddock right along with the race crew and cars. Beverages and snacks, opportunities to speak one on one with the drivers and watch their preparations for both qualification and the races, along with special ticketing were available at all events.

This was an excellent opportunity for Corvette owners to attend a race event near their home and enjoy the thrill of victory along with the D.J. Racing Team. At each event a local Corvette club helped with the logistics of the event, promoting the excitement and establishing a Corvette Coral for convenience and safe parking to all who participated. Every race in the 2002 season was a weekend of pleasant friendly faces, team spirit and a love for America's Sports Car. Race enthusiasts became part of a winning team as the D.J. Racing team took both drivers to the winner circle time after time. The team could not have accomplished anymore than ranking first and second at the end of the season.

In 2004 Jeff Cauley, of Cauley Chevrolet of West Bloomfield, MI  joined the team as a third driver. In the 2004 race season the DJ Race team of Danny Kellermeyer, Robert Pfeffer and Jeff Cauley had excellent final rankings with 1st, 3rd and 5th place respectively.

Entering into the 2008 season this winning team consisted of Prepared Class drivers Danny Kellermeyer, a four-time champion of this series; Robert Pfeffer, a three-time champion; the father son team of Jeff and Joe Cauley of Cauley Chevrolet and Jonathan Pfeffer with his third TCC Traditional Class Championship in 2008.

2010 marks the 52nd anniversary of road racing at the Waterford Hills race track and we want to make this special. Come out for a great celebration and have fun with us on this race day!
