The D. J. Race Enterprise team
is pleased to announce that their exciting "Fan
Involvement" program will be a part of the
SCCA-Waterford Hills regional event on the weekend
of July 19-20. This program invites Corvette Clubs
from a 250-mile radius of each track to come out
for an exciting weekend of racing and Corvette
camaraderie. The team started hospitality activities
during the 2002 season and found it to be very
successful.
"Our new program allows Corvette
owners to come out and be an active part of the
qualifying and racing", says Danny Kellermeyer
the president of D. J. Race Ent. "These enthusiasts
will be able to talk to all the Corvette drivers
and ask any questions they have. We hope to have
a track parade lap at the lunch hour, so Corvette
Club members can view and drive the track first
hand. We are pleased to have Southern Motors of
Pontiac, and Cauley Chevrolet of West Bloomfield
assisting us in this weekends activities."
The members of Flint Corvette Club
and the Americas Corvette Club will help host
this Waterford Hills event. All Corvette owners
are invited to attend and it is anticipated many
owners from clubs like North Oaks Corvette Club,
Corvette Club of Michigan, Grand Valley Corvette
Club, Shiawassee Corvette Club, Jackson Corvette
Club, Tech Center Corvette Club and Capital City
Corvette Club will attend. The Land of Lincoln
Corvette Club, from the Chicago area, is planning
to caravan over for this event.
The Corvette owners will have the
opportunity to meet many of the Michigan racecar
drivers like Vern Roberts, Dorothy Johnston, Danny
Kellermeyer and Kip Wasenko who have all taken
the first place honors at earlier 2003 Waterford
races. Jeff Cauley of West Bloomfield, Robert
Pfeffer of Indiana, Dean Bohne and Mat Cutter
from Chicago, Ill. are just some of the drivers
coming to challenge the regular Waterford veterans.
Qualifying and an 8-lap race will establish Saturday's
agenda and the weekend will conclude with a 20-lap
feature race on Sunday.
The weekend will have something
for everyone. A Corvette corral will be a show
within itself. It will display some of the finest
Corvettes from the Michigan area. Guest speakers
like GM';s Corvette Brand Service Manager
Dave Peacy will offer presentations at various
times. Vintage Corvette racecars will be on display
as well as the events racecars between preparations.
After racing on Saturday the D. J. Racing team
will do a seminar at the transporter allowing
the Corvette enthusiasts to once again see and
touch performance. Door prizes, food and beverage
as well as great conversation will round out the
complete weekend.
If all this excitement is not enough,
the entry is Free. Your Corvette is your ticket
to come in Free both days. The Hospitality event
supporters, Cauley Chevrolet, Southern Motors,
and D. J. Race Enterprise, want this to be a very
special weekend for all. If your not driving your
Corvette or your just interested in Corvettes,
your Free tickets can be copied from www.djrace.com
or www.cauley.net. You are invited to come out
and join the grassroots fun and excitement of
Corvette racing at its best.
